Division Executive Director Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the Nygren-Montoya Administration!

The Nygren-Montoya Administration made a commitment to support our Navajo Nation employees because they are the heart that drives our Navajo Nation Government. With that commitment in mind, the Nygren-Montoya Administration is starting its search for qualified division leadership that will support our Navajo workforce with our values: Competence, Compassion, Teamwork, and Commitment.

This online form is required for anyone wishing to be considered for a political appointment as a division executive director only starting January 11, 2023. This required application will be open for submissions starting Wednesday, November 23, and will close on Monday, December 5 at 11:59pm MT.

Only applications for Navajo Nation Executive Branch Division Executive Director positions are being considered at this time.

Navajo Nation Veterans Administration

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Veterans Administration will implement programs and oversee appropriations established to help Navajo veterans and/or their surviving beneficiaries access tribal, state, and federal benefits and assistance programs.

Navajo Nation Division of Human Resources

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Human Resources will oversee the implementation of improvements for the Navajo Nation Government's workforce and related human resource functions.

Navajo Nation Department of Justice

The Attorney General of the Navajo Nation is an executive director-level position that leads the Navajo Nation Department of Justice programs and departments.

Navajo Nation Division of Community Development

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Community Development oversees capital projects, Chapter administrative support, rural addressing completion, solid waste management development, land use plan technical support, and will strengthen vital community development services that promote local governance.

Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety will oversee a comprehensive top-down re-alignment of the Police Department and will direct the Nygren-Montoya Administration's public safety response improvement initiatives in all agencies.

Navajo Nation Division of Transportation

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Transportation will oversee the expansion of the Navajo Nation's short-, mid-, and long-range transportation functions.

Navajo-Hopi Land Commission Office

The Executive Director of the Navajo-Hopi Land Commission Office will implement a complete transition to providing advocacy and support for Former Bennett Freeze Area families and relocatees.

Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development will streamline business registration and development of the Navajo Nation business site leasing process with emphasis on small business development and combating poverty.

Navajo Nation Washington Office

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Washington Office will oversee the direct involvement of the Navajo Nation in national issues through the Navajo Nation's established federal priorities.

Navajo Nation Telecommunications and Regulatory Commission Office

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Telecommunications and Regulatory Commission Office will oversee the Nation's administrative management of commission business with emphasis on contributing to the positive development of modernized frameworks for telecommunications.

Navajo Department of Health

The Executive Director of the Navajo Department of Health will lead efforts to establish a fully-operational Navajo Healthcare System after a full reopening of the Navajo Nation post-pandemic.

Navajo Nation Division of Natural Resources

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Natural Resources will oversee the collection of natural resources data and research and will administer the Nation's programs for land, water, minerals and livestock.

Navajo Nation Environmental Protection Agency

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Environmental Protection Agency will oversee the expansion of environmental monitoring, implementation and enforcement across the Navajo Nation.

Navajo Nation Division of Social Services

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Social Services will direct the Nation's social services funding with special emphasis on streamlining management of funding sources for more effective and timely projects that strengthen the Nation's social safety net.

Navajo Nation Division of General Services

The Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of General Services will oversee the programs and departments that concern the Navajo Nation Government's internal and public-facing technical support services.

Executive Director

Executive Directors are appointed upon recommendation by the Navajo Nation President and then confirmation by the Navajo Nation Council.
